AlunaGeorge's End Of Year Party

So it's been a pretty big year for us as far as AlunaGeorge is concerned. We've put out a couple of singles, played a few shows, made a bonafide killer of a video, remixed a few people - basically, they now exist. This time last year they were this duo nobody knew about, had no idea what they looked like or really sounded like, so it's fair to say we've turned that around in a huge way.

In honour of that, we'd really love to big ourselves up and celebrate 2011 with all the nearest, dearest and unfamiliar party people with a blowout party at The Nest. In association with Red Bull Studios, you are cordially invited to:

AlunaGeorge's End Of Year Party

The line-up features AlunaGeorge on a live tip, backed up by a host of our friends/collaborators and remixers, otherwise known as Riton, Canblaster, Sam Tiba, Lapalux and our Super Recordings boss Raffertie. Taking place on Thursday 8th December - Entry is free before 11pm and £4 afterwards.

But why am I doing all this talking when I made a website to do precisely this? Hit up alunageorge.com/endofyearparty for a bit of light reading, a pleasant visual experience and a bunch of rather relevant free downloads.

SEE YOU ON 8TH DECEMBER.

WITH YOUR HAND IN MY HAND

After a somewhat turbulent couple of months, Riton has made the first of many steps forward in what Mehdi affectionately referred to as 'the Riton show'. It's the first of a series of releases via his new Ritontime label teaming up with US partner Dim Mak.

Dark Place / A.C.P is out now and available to download on Beatport and iTunes. We recently made Riton a new website and Tumblr blog, so go peep dat.

In other news, Riton has remixed our own AlunaGeorge and will be joining them in a DJ vibe capacity at their 'End Of Year' party in London on 8th December. Hold tight for more info.

Monthly Round-up: September 2011

I was thinking....why not do a blog post every month telling you about the good ish that has happened in the last 4 weeks? Right?

So, at the beginning of this month we debuted the new video for AlunaGeorge's single 'You Know You Like It'. Since then, it's had over 25,000 views on YouTube, shared on over 3,000 walls on Facebook as well as being featured everywhere from RWD to Earmilk. It's even inspired various YouTube-sensation dancers to upload videos of themselves cuttin' a rug to it. Big up yourselves.

It's also been played various times on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra by the likes of Toddla T, Trevor Nelson and Sara Cox on the Fearne Cotton show. Overall, a pretty good response. Thanks to everyone for their support. DOIN IT! If you haven't already watched it, I urge you to do so.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for information on the vinyl release of the single, also on Super Recordings, due out this November with additional remixes by one of my favourite house/club banger composers. It's gonna get really real. The band are also working on a couple of remixes due out in the next couple of months (for other artists) as well as continuing to write/record for their debut album.

Tribes completed their Come Vibe With Me tour, involving playing a show in a fan's back garden in Carterton (Oxfordshire) playing another fan's basement in Leeds, aptly named 'The Wank Dungeon' - although, the gig had to be moved upstairs to accommodate the overwhelming amount of people who showed up to get involved. All the fun came to an end in Brighton, playing in someone's student house, which got slightly out of hand with 100's showing up and nearly being shut down by the feds. All in all, a great success. It was all streamed live in their Facebook page.

Today, they begin their UK tour before hitting the road with The Kooks and Kaiser Chiefs across the UK and Europe. Be sure not to miss their homecoming show at Camden's Electric Ballroom on 28th October, to coincide with the release of their new single 'When My Day Comes' on 24th.

Watch the video for 'When My Day Comes' here.

Kai Fish of Mystery Jets fame debuted his new video for 'My Anima' which I think you'll agree is incredibly beautiful. His first tour across the UK and Europe began last week. Check out the live dates here, on the website we made for him.

Mystery Jets played their last live show of the year, as they're now in hiding to finish writing/record material for LP4, which we are extremely excited about.

Preparations are well underway for Riton's album, with the body of music already very much coming together - a huge overhaul of online existance, new website, new blog is what's about to happen very shortly to coincide with the launch of his own Riton Time label, which we'll be releasing singles on every month, with various licensing deals in other territories with Dim Mak and Ministry of Sound. In the meantime, listen to RITONTIME001: Dark Place / A.C.P and let shit get REAL.

RITONTIME001 by Riton

We, like countless others were so sad to hear of the passing of Mehdi. A long-time friend and collaborator of Riton's. Here's a blog from Riton which sums up their final weekend together in photos.

Stay Black ♥

I'm struggling to find anything else that I'm actually allowed to say, some very exciting behind the scenes vibes occurred this month, all in all - one of the most exciting yet. We keep our Facebook pretty up to date, so don't hesitate to hit the like button y'all.

Okay, I'm off to watch those cheeky Viva Brother lads at KOKO.

PEACE X

AlunaGeorge x BBC Radio 1 x Toddla T x Sara Cox = Sweet

So, last night, the man himself Toddla T gave the AlunaGeorge single a spin on his 'In New DJs We Trust' show on BBC Radio 1 after hearing it on Trevor Nelson's show on 1Xtra a coupla times. Turns out he loved it so much that he handed it over to Sara Cox to play this morning on Radio 1. Catch up on both plays below.
